George Zwier

For more than twenty years, George has helped filmmakers put what's in their heads on the screen, from the compositing floor to the set to the studio.

His first film credit was as a compositor at Animal Logic on Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge!, and from there his career took him through the biggest names in visual effects. He composited I, Robot and The Hobbit at Weta Digital in New Zealand. As a compositing lead at Double Negative in London he worked on Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, The Bourne Ultimatum, the Harry Potter films and Inception, which earned him a VES Award for Outstanding Compositing. He later led a team at DNeg Singapore on Captain America: The First Avenger, and worked at ILM in San Francisco on Pacific Rim.

As a Production VFX Supervisor he became the director's creative partner, guiding the visual effects for Mike Leigh's Peterloo, for Michael Apted, and for Shane Black and Joel Silver's The Nice Guys. As part of the visualisation team at The Third Floor he worked on previs and postvis for Disney's Aladdin, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Artemis Fowl and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and he has since supervised and produced visual effects for Netflix, including the series Half Bad and the film Scoop. Most recently he ran Ollin VFX's short-lived London office as Head of Studio.

Alongside the visual effects, George has always been a writer. His short film Dead Beat won at the Latitude Film Awards and was recognised by festivals across Europe. In 2025 he founded Fishwell Films to tell his own stories, pairing two decades of filmmaking craft with new AI-assisted production tools, and to help other writers show investors what their scripts could become.
